Blizzard released the animated short, Diablo III: Wrath today to get us ready for the highly anticipated Diablo III game.
Narrated by Deckard Cain (voiced by Michael Gough), the Diablo III: Wrath, hack and slash, anime-style video gives us the back story of how Diablo corrupted and divided the Archangels.
It’s been many years since we have had a Diablo game (Diablo II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction expansion) and are more than ready to see what Diablo looks like with the technology of today.
The dark fantasy/horror, action role-playing, dungeon crawl, takes place in Sanctuary, the dark fantasy world of the Diablo series twenty years after the events in Diablo II. There will be a new generation of heroes. Character classes have been slightly modified with the new Witch Doctor—characteristics similar to the Diablo II necromancer, but with more skills in shamanism and voodoo. The Wizard is akin to the sorceress from Diablo II or the sorcerer from Diablo. The Monk is a melee fighter that uses martial arts. The Demon Hunter combines elements of Diablo II’s amazon and assassin classes and the Barbarian returns with revamped skills.
Diablo III is set for release, May 15, 2012.
