Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!

Before there were superheroes, there was The Shadow.  A wealthy playboy who fights crime in a costume and a reputation that make bad guys frightened.  Ya, Bob Kane cribbed a lot of notes from The Shadow in making Batman and he freely admitted it.  The Shadow started out in the early ’30s and was a radio sensation as well as a comic and a monthly pulp title.  Now Dynamite Comics is rebooting the noir anti-hero and bringing in Garth Ennis to pen the pulp adventures.  And Ennis is setting his pulp anti-hero right where he belongs in the dirty thirties.

Lamont Cranston will be taking on Major Taro Kondo, a Japanese Intelligence Officer, and Buffalo Wong, a shady Chinese warlord.  No one knows what they’re up to but US Army Intelligence officer Pat Finnegan enlists the Margo Lane and The Shadow to find out… even if he doesn’t quite trust the mysterious man.

If you want to see who inspired Batman then check out the man with the wide-brimmed hat and twin .45s.  Dynamite is also reviving another old pulp hero The Spider, which is due out in June.
