Shadowrun has come back to its daddy who wants to Kickstart it on to tablets.

Jordan Weisman is a humble guy for someone who can claim designing Battletech, Shadowrun, Crimson Skies, Mage Knight and Heroclix. He is the father of Shadowrun, which mixes Tolkienesque fantasy with Gibsonesque cyberpunk and is the new licensee for a Shadowrun RPG for PCs and tablets.

Just one problem, even a modest game will cost a pretty penny. So Jordan has hit Kickstarter and posted a hilarious video pitching his idea and his need for 400 large. What can you get for the cost of a few lattes (or a couple of used console games)? The usual tiered offerings one would expect from a Kickstarter project. Oh, you meant the game…

Weisman wants to make what at first glance seems the Shadowrun equivalent of Neverwinter Nights. A turn based RPG where you build and grow your character and can join up with friends to go on runs. It’d be available for PCs and tablets and their will be a “level” editor for the PC to make your own adventures, which could be shared. In fact it sounds exactly like Shadowrun Neverwinter Nights and that is awesome!

Check out Jordan’s grovelling and apologizing for Shadowrun below.

PS: Harebrained is half way there in a day. Wow!!!
