Out this week are American Reunion and Titanic in 3D.

American Reunion
Rating: R
Genre(s): Comedy
Directors: Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg
Stars: Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Chris Klein

The Buzz
Jim, Michelle, Stifler, and their friends reunite in East Great Falls, Michigan for their high school reunion. Is this the final chapter in the American Pie franchise before the inevitable reboot? The original movie was a fresh look at the tried old genre of getting laid in high school. The high school reunion is a nice way of finishing this franchise and seeing how all the actors have changed in the mean time.

Titanic [Opens April 4th in 3D] Rating: PG-13
Runtime: 194 min
Genre(s): Adventure, Drama, History, Romance
Director: James Cameron
Stars: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates

The Buzz
A boy and a girl from differing social backgrounds meet during the ill-fated maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic. Doesn’t James Cameron have enough money from this movie yet? And for the faithful, what does 3D add to this movie?

Limited Releases

Damsels in Distress
Rating: PG-13
Runtime: 99 min
Genre(s): Comedy
Director: Whit Stillman
Stars: Greta Gerwig, Adam Brody, Analeigh Tipton, Megalyn Echikunwoke

The Buzz
A trio of girls set out to change the male-dominated environment of the Seven Oaks college campus, and to rescue their fellow students from depression, grunge and low standards of every kind. The director of The Last Days of Disco gives us a musical and humorous new film with a strong performance by Greta Gerwig.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope
Rating: NA
Runtime: 88 min
Genre(s): Documentary
Director: Morgan Spurlock
Stars: Kevin Smith, Stan Lee, Eli Roth, Seth Rogen

The Buzz
A behind-the-scenes look at the fans who gather by the thousands each year in San Diego, California to attend Comic-Con, the world’s largest comic book convention. Spurlock is super-sizing the biggest geek con in the world. The director fades into the background to put the convention and would be comic book illustrators front and center.

The Hunter
Rating: R
Genre(s): Adventure, Drama
Director: Daniel Nettheim
Stars: Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill, Morgana Davies, Jacek Koman

The Buzz
Martin, a mercenary, is sent from Europe by a mysterious biotech company to the Tasmanian wilderness on a hunt for the last Tasmanian tiger. OK, anything with Willem Dafoe immediately gets my interest. A touch of sci-fi and mystery, it’s kind of geek porn in an art house package. Please don’t suck.

ATM
Rating: R
Runtime: 90 min
Genre(s): Horror, Thriller
Director: David Brooks
Stars: Alice Eve, Josh Peck, Brian Geraghty, Aaron Hughes

The Buzz
On a late night visit to an ATM, three co-workers end up in a desperate fight for their lives when they become trapped by an unknown man. A horror movie called ATM… what does it give Insufficient Funds or Feed Me A Kitten messages to everyone? Lame!
