Video Game Releases for February 7th, 2012
Out this week: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, Gotham City Impostors, Resident Evil Revelations, Inversion and The Darkness II.
The game universe and lore of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was created by fantasy author, R.A. Salvatore. Players are immersed in a rich open world, ripe with magic and danger. You engage in intense action as you explore the vast and varied world of Amalur. The game will utilize a unique “Destiny” system, whereby you can invest in a skill-tree system to unlock various “destinies,” which acts as the class system for the game. This allows you the ability to mix and match skills and abilities from the three stereotypical RPG skill-sets of mage, rogue and warrior.
After a delayed and extended beta period, Gotham City Impostors is finally available this week. Players chose a side and can either pose as amateur vigilantes or villains. You can create and completely customize the characters and their weapons from a choice of real or outlandishly, imagined ones. There are different modes available in this downloadable game and it will be playable by at least eight players simultaneously.
Resident Evil Revelations takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 and centers around BSAA member Jill Valentine. Players fight for survival as they investigate a deadly threat on board a stranded cruise liner in the Mediterranean. Danger lurks around every claustrophobic corner and you must face a menacing new enemy that emerges from the darkness. There will be more emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving. Oh and there are limited supplies of ammunition.
Inversion is a third person shooter game loaded with action, breakthrough gravity manipulation and heavy destruction. Mankind is invaded by an unknown enemy called the Lutadore, who show up packing futuristic gravity-controlling weapons. In conjunction with the invasion, random regions have entered zero gravity or have suffered vector changes, throwing the world into chaos. Players must learn to maneuver through the environment and manipulate objects in order to survive. It is available in single and multiplayer modes.
Based on the supernatural horror comic book series by Top Cow Productions, Inc., The Darkness II changes the landscape of first person shooters with its Quad-Wielding gameplay. That means players can slash, grab, and throw objects and enemies with their Demon Arms while simultaneously firing two weapons. Jackie Estacado, now the Don of the Franchetti crime family, used The Darkness (an ancient and ruthless force of chaos and destruction) to kill the men responsible for his girlfriend’s murder. It’s been two years that he’s been bottling up his supernatural power and now The Darkness wants out.http://pokupo.com/2012/02/05/video-game-releases-for-february-7th-2012/Video GamesGotham City Impostors,Inversion,Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning,Resident Evil Revelations,The Darkness II
