Brian Fuller, creator of Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls and Dead Like Me has been tapped to bring Hannibal Lector into your living room on a weekly basis.

Pushing Daisies, was a short-lived (two seasons), lighthearted and quirky show about a pie-maker named, Ned (Lee Pace) who had the power to bring the dead back to life. Ned’s power allowed him to resurrect the dead for one minute without any consequences. After that, someone else would die to take that persons’ place. A second touch would permanently kill the person. With the help of his lovesick waitress, Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth), Ned ran his pie shop by day. By night he used his unique gift to help PI Emerson Cod (Chi McBride) solve murder mysteries. They were joined by his resuscitated childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel). Ned was responsible for bringing her back to life but could never touch her again.

Wonderfalls, was a criminally short, comedy-drama about a underachiever in a very gifted family who gets Joan of Arc like messages from animal figurines. Jaye Tyler (Caroline Dhavernas), a recent philosophy graduate from Brown University works in a dead-end job at a Niagara Falls gift shop. She is doing a good job of avoiding life until various animal figurines start talking to her, or rather tell her to do things. Thirteen episodes were filmed, but Fox cancelled the show after only showing four and changing the night it aired with little to no promotion. Lee Pace who was in Pushing Daisies played Jaye’s brother in Wonderfalls.

Dead Like Me, also short-lived (two seasons) was an offbeat show about George Lass (Ellen Muth), a college drop out who was killed at age 18 by a toilet seat from the Space Station MIR. Upon her death, she was recruited to become a grim reaper (undead who walk among the living and take peoples’ souls just before they die). She learned to navigate life after death with the help of her reaper team comprised of Mason (Callum Blue), Roxy (Jasmine Guy), Betty (Rebecca Gayheart) and supervisor Rube (Mandy Patinkin). George also held down a day job working with off-the-wall, Delores Herbig (Christine Willes).

Hannibal, a one-hour drama is expected to focus on the early days, before movies: Manhunter, A former FBI Agent Will Graham (William Peterson) is called out of retirement to help catch the serial killer known as “The Tooth Fairy.” In order to get into the mind of the killer he has meetings with imprisoned serial killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecktor (Brian Cox); Silence of the Lambs, a young FBI cadet, Clarice (Jodie Foster) seeks the help of manipulative killer, Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) in order catch another serial killer; Hannibal, after escaping the asylum in Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) tries to make contact with Clarice (Julianne Moore) when a former victim, Mason Verger (Gary Oldman) seeks revenge; and Red Dragon, retired FBI Agent, Will Graham (Edward Norton) is called back into service to catch a serial killer known as “The Tooth Fairy” and has to ask his arch-nemesis, Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) for his help. Perhaps there was a time when “Hannibal The Cannibal,” ate pie instead of people.

Gaumont Film Company, France is looking to break into the American television market with Hannibal.
