Hugh Laurie best know for his cynical, yet brilliant character on the Fox hit series House, has released his debut CD, Let Them Talk.

Let them Talk is surprisingly good. It’s jazzy New Orleans style blues sound has Laurie as lead vocal, piano and guitar. Kevin Breit is on guitar and Vincent Henry is on Sax. Additional collaboration of stalwarts like Allen Toussaint (feature horn arrangements), Sir Tom Jones, Irma Thomas and Dr. John adds lustre to this album.

The song selection is terrific especially “St. James Infirmary” originally recorded in the 1920’s by Louis Armstrong.  Let Them Talk also contains the classic “Six Cold Feet” by Leroy Carr from the 1930’s.

This album shows that the English actor is also a talented musician who could have a future after hanging up his cane and chasing obscure medical conditions.
